Eastern Arc of Sanctuary Seminar Series
We are delighted to be part of the Eastern Arc of Sanctuary seminar series. The aim of the seminar series is to create opportunities for a wide range of voices – from the Eastern Arc universities and beyond – to speak to current challenges and issues relating to embedding concepts of welcome in higher education institutions.

Humanitarianism in an age of securitisation
Lead: Uli Theurekauf, University of East Anglia
This session will look at the Universities of Sanctuary movement, exploring its position and role within the existing relationships and tensions between humanitarian and security drivers.

Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, resilience and creativity of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
Refugee week offers us the opportunity to reflect and consider what actions we can individually and collectively take to create a kinder, more compassionate world.
